SYNOPSIS
In the year 2050, technology dominates every aspect of daily life. Ruth, a young woman who seems to have everything going for her, celebrates the 7th anniversary of her relationship to Andrew, her companion, in a restaurant.
After a short moonlit stroll, they're heading home and prepare for a relaxing evening when Ruth receives a message reminding her of her nightly jogging session. She walks out onto the balcony and steps on the treadmill. After a few moments, the treadmill rhythm and the scenery around her changes abnormally.
Andrew, who is playing chess, realizes the situation and his screen begins to fail as well. Unable to keep up with the temperamental pace of the treadmill,
Ruth falls to the ground and starts to panic.
Andrew rushes to join her but is prevented by malfunctions in the sliding glass doors that separate them. He succeeds in calming her down only to be defeated by a complete blackout. Moments later, Ruth and Andrew are revealed to be in a dark gray cube. They are still separated by the glass.
Ruth panics at the realization that her ideal world is falling apart.
This time, Andrew 's attempts at appeasing her are unsuccessful. He freezes for a few seconds. Ruth, increasingly nervous, bangs aggressively on the window until it shatters and crashes down on Andrew. He falls to the ground seemingly unconscious. Ruth, fearing the worst, tries to wake him to no avail. She is increasingly desperate and huddles against him. Time passes...
Ruth, in a last ditch effort, fevourosly begins to pat Andrew's body. Arriving at his neck, she feels something and pushes down on it. A small hatch opens up revealing a reset button. Lines of code flash within Andrew's eyes. He is a robot. In the background, Ruth sees options of different worlds reappear. Pleased to know that everything will reset back to normal, she snuggles into his arms.
The camera pulls away and we realize that they are in a cube. We discover a multitude of cubes, floating in space, each bearing the name of a person...◼︎

This movie aims to warn people of the dangers of relying too much on technology and encourage them to seek human interactions.
For a movie with this message, it may seem paradoxical that it was entirely shot using 3D LED screens. But this time, it served us well. It helped me achieve the look I wanted and I am proud to say that tRuth is the first movie shot entirely that way in France.
Although it has not been entirely plain sailing, I am grateful to have been able to experience this technology which is bound to be more widely used in the future.
And this is how it should be: technology should help us enhance our lives without becoming slaves to it! ■
